Hudson Valley's Center for Performing Arts
Located in Dutchess County of the Hudson Valley you will find The Center For Performing Arts At Rhinebeck, commonly known as The Center.   The Center first opened its doors in July 1998, starting in a tent with a few interested members, it now boasts year round operation seven days a week putting on 1,000 different productions with 15,000 artists being involved in the productions and 200,000 people attending them. About 1,250 students have been involved in learning all aspects of the theater arts. The Center thrives on providing many different venues of performing arts for patrons to enjoy.  It often hosts local theater companies such as CENTERstage productions, The Gilbert and Sullivan Musical Theater Company, Kids On Stage, Rhinebeck Theater Society, and Up In One Productions.  All of these companies put on professional and entertaining performances. Besides the companies that perform here, there are educational opportunities available for people throughout the Hudson Valley.  There is a summer camp that teaches students ages 5-15 how to act. The Center for Performing Arts also teaches tech to high school age students.  There are one week or three week long camps for all ages. Each camp session focuses on a different play and caters to different levels of acting experience. Therefore, no matter how much or little experience one has, there is a camp that will meet the need.  For parents looking for a way to get children involved in an activity that will stimulate their body and mind, bring them out of their shell (and possibly ignite an interest in) The Center for Performing Arts is a great venue.  Visit their website for tuiotion and scholarship information. Throughout the year The Center for Performing Arts host several different types of art programs and performances ranging from plays, musicals, drama, dance and magic shows.
